Blue Notes, November 22, 2021

Dear Zion Parents:

Attached are this week’s Blue Notes along with several attachments (Love Project, Extra Thanksgiving and Sampson T-shirts).  

We want to express our sincere thanks to you for choosing to send your child to Zion Lutheran School.  We are truly blessed to have such outstanding students, parents and staff in our Zion Family.   We have much to be thankful for.  Happy Thanksgiving. 

CALENDAR:

  • Nov. 22nd & 23rd- NOTE CHANGE- There will be AM and PM bus service on Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 22nd & 23rd. 
  • Nov. 24th-26th- NO SCHOOL – Thanksgiving Holiday Break 

RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS COUNTDOWN TO CHRISTMAS– The Zion Student Council is kicking off our Random Acts of Kindness – Countdown to Christmas Break with a canned food drive for the M.O.R.E. Center.  Students may bring in a can of food for donation to begin our first day of the countdown.   See the attached calendar. 

PARENT VOLUNTEER PROGRAM (PVP):   This week we have no one signed up to help at lunch for the rest of the week from 10:50-11:50 a.m. each day.   Each family is required to get in 10 hours of volunteer service this year.  We also have all basketball games in now to sign up to help at the concessions or ticket table.  You can sign up at this link- PVP Volunteer Sign-up Link.

FREE HOLIDAY MEALS– The M.O.R.E. Food Pantry will be handing out free holiday meals to anyone.  There is no paperwork involved, no qualifying factors or pre-signup needed. Thanksgiving meals will be available for pickup on Nov. 24th between 9 a.m. and noon.  Christmas meals will be available for pickup at the following dates and times.   Dec. 15 from 4-6:30 pm, Dec. 16th from 9 am – noon, Dec. 22 from 4-6:30 pm. and Dec. 23 from 9:00 am to noon.  We want to thank the M.O.R.E food pantry for this wonderful opportunity to our community.  

INTERESTED IN SPACE- see the attached flyers about the Dec. 2nd Eye on the Sky presentation on the new James Webb Space Telescope and join the Telescope launch party on Dec. 18th at 6 a.m. both at the Harvard Diggins Library.
