Dear Zion Parents:
We wish you and your family a Blessed Holy Week as we celebrate Christ’s resurrection this Sunday on Easter. There is NO chapel this Wednesday but all students will be attending Holy Thursday and Good Friday services at 10 a.m. Both are open to parents and members of the congregation.
ATHLETIC SOAP SALE- Our athletic director, Mrs. Black is sponsoring a soap/cleaning product fundraiser sale to help supplement the cost of our athletic program. These are all products you probably buy and consume on a regular basis but can buy them for about 1/2 the cost you pay in the store through school. Our sports participation fee only covers 1/3 of the actual cost of approximately $100 per participate when you take into account a small coaches stipend, cost for officials, supplies, uniforms, equipment. Attached to the Blue Notes are handouts about the sale and a hard copy will be sent home with your child.
Attached to the Blue Notes is Auction Information, Athletic Soap/Cleaning Product Fundraiser and Marengo Tackle Football.
Zion’s Annual Auction – Donations NeededYOUR HELP IS NEEDED! The Auction Committee is seeking donations of newly purchased or handcrafted items, services, event tickets, weekend getaways, etc. Additional ideas can be found on the attached pages. Donations are tax deductible and can be dropped off at or mailed to Zion. Donors will be acknowledged in the online event. Please have donations in either the school or church offices no later than April 30 as bidding will open just a few days later and close the evening of Saturday, May 7. Funds raised will be used to replenish the playground mulch fund and for school improvements. Questions can be emailed to ZionAuctionCommittee@gmail.com. DATES TO REMEMBER:
- Good Friday, April 15th is an 11:00 a.m. early dismissal following our 10 a.m. Good Friday service. Mid Term Grade Reports distributed. No PM bus service on this day.
- Monday, April 18th – NO SCHOOL- Easter Monday
- Thursday, April 21 & Friday, April 22- 8th Grade trip to Springfield
REGISTRATION FOR NEXT YEAR: Registration forms and a $50 deposit for next year’s enrollment were due in the office on February 25th. If you have not already turned them in please do so as soon as possible. Our kindergarten class is currently full and we are taking names for a waiting list in the event that we are able to offer a second section of kindergarten.
PARENT VOLUNTEER PROGRAM (PVP): If you do not already have your 10 hours of volunteer service for this year. Time and opportunities are running out. You will be assessed a $10 per hour fee for hours you are short. We always need lunch helpers each day from 10:50-11:50 a.m. PVP Sign-up We will need a number of volunteers for Olympic Fun Day on May 19th.
